Provider Education
Provider Education is a no-cost, 15-hour program of in-service training taught by a team of an adult with mental illness, a family member, and a mental health professional. NAMI Provider Education introduces mental health professionals to the unique perspectives of individuals living with a mental health condition and their families. Participants will learn to develop enhanced empathy for their daily challenges and recognize the importance of working through these challenges during the treatment process.
NAMI Connects
NAMI Connects provides empathetic listening, information through local resources, and promotes positive attitudes towards engagement of mental health services through shared experience with mental illness. NAMI Connects offers an additional level of support in inpatient, hospital settings to patients and family members affected by mental illness. NAMI Connects staff includes individuals and family members of those affected by mental illness, and the staff works directly with hospital staff to help people in need.
